The Xiaomi Mi A1
will have its first flash sale today at 12 PM. The phone, developed together with Google under the Android One project is also Xiaomi’s first dual camera phone in India.
If you have been planning on buying one, today is your chance. But going by the surging demand for the phone, you might be hard pressed for it.
The phone will go on sale on Flipkart, Mi.com and in Mi Home stores in Bengaluru and Delhi. Priced Rs 14,999, the Mi A1 is also being offered with an Accidental Damage Protection plan for Rs 899 which is valid for one year and covers 80 per cent of the cost of repair.
The Mi A1 is Xiaomi’s first phone with stock Android. Under the Android One program, Google will work with Xiaomi to push out regular security update and the update to Android Oreo by the end of this year.
This is the first budg phone to sport iPhone-like dual cameras. A wide angle + telephoto combo to provide 2X zoom and the veritable portrait mode.
The hardware underneath is basically the same as Xiaomi’s best selling device – The Redmi Note 4. It runs on Qualcomm’s mid-range processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. It features a 5.5-inch full HD display and also comes with the infamous IR blaster.
The Mi A1 has a 3,080mAh battery to boot which is enough to last you a day and then some.
At today’s sale, only the Black and the Gold variant will be available while the Rose Gold variant will come a month later.
